The Weight of the Blood

I was literally sitting at church with a friend, and she was explaining to me how important the blood of Christ was to her in a certain season of her life, and I loved it, but deep down I didn't think it was THAT important to me, if I am being completely honest. I knew the importance of the blood in my mind, but not in my heart. Until this past week, when I truly needed to rest in the promise that his blood truly washes you white-- that this promise was for me...even for me! I guess self-protection, self-righteousness, and pride got in the way of fully realizing and accepting this truth and promise of Jesus.

"Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame." - Psalms 34:5
"Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace, you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours." - Isaiah 51:7
Shame is such a huge lie that gets us into the trap of believing the enemy. Shame says, "I am bad." Jesus' grace says, "You are forgiven, repent, and sin no more." When we live in grace, we are able to see more clearly the depth of love and mercy our Father has for us.
It's actually quite funny how wide the Father's mercy and love are for me, and you, too, friend. The other week, I was really down, and confused, and stuck in a shame spiral, so I decided to "go my own way." It ended in God showing up, meeting me where I was at, in the middle of my mess, sobbing and crying out to him that I am sorry, and I don't want to sin anymore. I want to be fully his.
But, in order to be fully his, you have to die to yourself-- literally. You have to throw off sin, your flesh, and the demons you have let have access in you. You. Are. All. His! <3

Romans 6:6-7
"For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin."
Romans 8:6
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Thank you, Jesus, for your incredible sacrifice. The blood is enough. Completely sufficient. What a miracle. Thank you!!
